In addition to including our commitment to comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations, Gateway's Environmental Policy also recognizes that reducing the environmental impact of our products and operations is an important part of the value we deliver to our customers.
Today, Gateway remains fully committed to achieving environmental excellence and to working with our partners and suppliers to meet or exceed the environmental commitments summarized below.
- Comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations; fulfill our voluntary environmental commitments; and operate our facilities with all necessary environmental permits, approvals and operational controls.
- Design our products to:
- be safe for people to use.
- meet or exceed all applicable U.S. and international government environmental standards and regulations.
- reduce and, where feasible, minimize their environmental impacts over their life cycle, including materials consumption, hazardous materials use, energy consumption and hazardous and solid waste.
- Promote the safe and responsible reuse, recycling and disposition of our products and packaging at the end of their useful life.
- Promote relevant environmental initiatives by our internal organizations, managers, employees, strategic partners and suppliers.
- Be guided by the principles of pollution prevention and continual improvement.
- Periodically review our Environmental Policy and ensure it remains appropriate to the nature, scale and environmental impacts of our activities, products and services.
Gateway's Product Recycling Program
For unwanted computers and peripherals, Gateway is pleased to offer all customers with options to recycle or trade in old computers and electronic equipment in an environmentally sound fashion. Business and government customers (institutions, corporations, businesses) can learn more about our
