Customers trust Gateway because they know we stand behind the quality of our products and services. Advertising, and the way we do it, is an important aspect of that trust.

 

We all know the phrase "You never get a second chance to make a first impression." Advertising can be the customer's first impression of Gateway and can motivate a customer to try a new product or service. It can help keep a customer for life or can send him or her running to the competition.

 

To maintain our customers' trust and respect, Gateway advertisements must always be accurate and fairly describe the products or services being discussed, complying with all laws and regulations in the process. Advertising that is willfully misleading amounts to lying to our customers, and that is never acceptable.

 

At Gateway, we do not sell our products by disparaging the products and services of others; we sell based on the merits of our own products and services. And, when we make comparisons between our own products and services and those of others, we do so based on fact. We believe that anything less—anything that might be construed as deceptive—does a disservice to our customers and diminishes Gateway's brand, good name and reputation.

 

Selling

Being Gateway means competing vigorously—but always honestly and fairly. We don't misrepresent our products and services, we don't make inaccurate promises or claims, and we don’t disparage our competitors even though we may compare our offerings to theirs. Where silence about a fact could mislead a customer, we disclose the information, even if it means losing a sale. We also communicate in a way that ensures that our customers understand our contracts and understand that we stand behind our products and services.
