Quad Core: Full Speed Ahead
You've heard of dual core, right? Say hello to quad core. The Intel® Core™2 Extreme Quad-Core Processor QX6850 (available on select models) blazes with a total of four processing cores and 2 X 4MB L2 shared cache.
This high-end, ultraspeedy CPU makes those models our most extreme machines to date, perfect for power users, gamers, digital creation gurus and anyone who isn't willing to settle for just another ho-hum, middle-of-the-road desktop.
Overclock This
Just say no to DIY overclocking and let us do it for you! We'll factory overclock your Intel® Core™2 Extreme Quad-Core Processor QX6850.4 Yep, you read that right: factory overclock, which is something that most other major PC manufacturers don't do.
Overclocking the FX541XT's CPU jacks up your clock speed to 3.66GHz and drives an overall processor speed increase of 20%. Plus, we'll even offer our standard limited warranty1 on any overclocked system, ensuring that you get a stable, overclocked system tricked out for maximum speed. (Available only on the FX541XT)
Blu-Ray™ and HD DVD™
Dual-format high-def movie drives come standard on many of our FX Desktops—giving you the ability to play both HD formats right out of the box.
Power Up
A high-end graphics card is a must for any serious PC user. And our FX models come with powerful, factory-overclocked NVIDIA and AMD graphics processors (processors vary by model).
You'll be able to power through visually demanding 3D games and applications on select models with the processor's advanced GigaThread™ Technology and the ultra-efficient processing power of NVIDIA® Unified Architecture—all while experiencing spectacular, film-quality effects.

With the FX Desktops, we're talking massively massive amounts of storage, along with a slew of speed and performance options for some of today's most advanced storage technologies.
True storage junkies will appreciate that the FX Series comes with up to 1.5TB of storage2. Or you can add your own. The FX541XT features two extra expandable bays, letting you upgrade7 to up to 3TB—that's 3000GB—of storage.

4 Intel® Core™2 Extreme Quad-Core Processors are "unlocked" CPUs—the frequency of the processor can be adjusted beyond the stated clock speed. Gateway's FX540 systems configured with these processors include a factory-overclocked CPU option. Gateway will configure and test such systems to ensure reliable operation at the specified overclocked CPU settings. Note: Improperly overclocking a CPU may result in causing the system not to boot, system instability and/or unpredictable results that may not be readily apparent. Gateway does not recommend changing the processor's clock speed from the factory set frequency as this may void the system's warranty. If a system has been modified, please refer to the system documentation in order to reset the processor to the original settings.
