I really like my computer. It works really well. The only problem we've had is replacing the cord. I had to replace the power cord & could not find the match anywhere (not where I purchased it -[local retailer]), on line at the Gateway website, anywhere. We used a "universal cord" that MELTED! [edit-language] the computer gets too hot for the power cord. We tried a higher strenthed universal power cord, but none of the attachments fit the hole. We finally found a place that says its the same type of cord as the original so I'm going to give that a try. Keep your fingers crossed. Otherwised I love the computer. It is a little heavy & we couldn't find a carrying case.

My background is ZEOS and MICRON. I travel throughout the SE for business and need an office away from home--otherwise I would have purchased one of the 10" screen "Atoms". I needed the backlit keyboard and wanted all the other stuff this computer came with. My only negative is the weight and the Windows Vista--I prefer XP. Both negatives are workable. Mine is an MC with the 320gb hard drive and it was "close out" priced. If you go to a meeting or class and open this computer, it looks like the most expensive notebook in the room! Some other reviews said they had problems with the keyboard and fit and finish. Mine looks and acts like a new expensive European car.

[offensive language removed] This laptop is very clean, compact, and a bit fancy. It does what it's label says, therefore you cannot complain about features that were not supposed to be included in the first place. If you wanted a faster computer go pay an extra $250-$500 for a better one. I personally like a bit more bang for my buck, so I went for the P Model(FX). It's a nicer model, but as I said before a bit more pricey. Get real people... P.S. - All in all for it's price this is a great laptop. :)

From time to time when I first bought this computer I would accidentally press some of the light up media options on the sides of the keyboard, later i found out you could turn them off while keeping the keyboard lit(big plus). Performance-wise this computer can easily handle any microsoft applications as well as processor and graphic demanding games. Haven't had a single problem with this computer, it can do what you need and do it well. Also, even with the settings set to performance based, the battery life while disconnected from a power source is amazing and the screen gives optimal visuals for movies and games. I hope this helps

First, let me say I actually like Gateway--the company. Save yourself frustration and don't buy this laptop!!!!!!!!!

I purchased this as my first laptop. When I purchased this it was for school. I've had it since the first part of December now and have hauled it back and forth to school, in the motorhome and all around the house. It is superfast when using multiple applications for school and have no problems. I like it so much that I am getting my son and daughter-in-law one for an early Christmas present and plan on using the onboard camera for videoing back and forth to keep up with my grandson.... Will willingly stand in line to buy another!!

Keys started breaking within two months of use. The machine is now six months old and has three broken keys. I have owned several laptops over the years and have never before broken a key. This keyboard is poorly engineered and manufactured; very fragile. Other than the keyboard issue (which is a major issue) no other problems.

At first, I chose the laptop because of its attractive Core 2 Duo processor and 320GB hard drive. I was a little worried that it would not perform well because I have never heard of the brand Gateway, but this laptop did not disappoint. It's easy to use, and Internet runs smoothly without any lagging and freezing. However, I was disappointed that videos on YouTube and Flash games still load just as slow as my desktop, which was kind of why I switched to a laptop so that videos would load instantly. Overall, great buy!

I bought this computer in March expecting that it would have few things that are taken for granted in laptops nowadays--internal Bluetooth, accommodation of different video editing software, Pinnacles magic bullets not compatible, Windows Defender and McAfee keep fighting each other--McAfee wins the final round. I cannot find an extended warranty in the UK as I bought from USA.... The left side of the media buttons never [lit] up. Having said that, this is a serious workstation and I would swap it for another. I bought an external Bluetooth adapter, forgot about my need for video editing extras and don't care very much about lit controls. I think this is a prototype and as with all prototypes glitches are part of the game. Get producing more guys. Just be more careful. Thanks.
